POHATCONG TWP., N.J. – A new facility, “committed to delivering high-quality care quickly, conveniently, and affordably,” will offer treatment of non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, X-ray and lab services and more.
American Family Care (AFC), a leading provider of urgent care with nearly 400 walk-in clinics across the United States, has announced the grand opening festivities for AFC Phillipsburg, located at 1225 U.S. Route 22 at St. James Avenue in Pohatcong Township, Warren County.
AFC Phillipsburg will celebrate its grand opening from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony – hosted by the Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce – set for 5 p.m., according to a news release.
The center will officially open to patients at 8 a.m. Monday, March 2.
Owned by the husband-and-wife team of O’George Chima and Dr. Sarah Chima, the new 3,000-square-foot clinic is designed as a one-stop shop for urgent and occupational healthcare.
The center includes private exam rooms, a procedure suite and on-site X-ray capabilities, delivering accessible, affordable and compassionate medical care.
“Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care quickly, conveniently, and affordably,” said O’George Chima, owner of AFC Phillipsburg.
“We saw a clear need for urgent care options that don’t involve lengthy, costly ER visits. We’re proud to bring a modern facility with comprehensive services to local families and businesses.”
AFC Phillipsburg will provide:
Walk in urgent care for non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses
On-site X-ray and lab services
A procedure suite for minor medical needs
Occupational health services, including drug screenings, injury treatment, and pre-employment, immigration and routine physicals
The clinic aims to serve as a reliable partner to local employers by improving workplace safety and minimizing downtime from workplace injuries.
O’George Chima, who immigrated to the United States 15 years ago and has a background in finance and healthcare, oversees business operations.
His wife, Dr. Sarah Chima, a robotic and breast surgeon, serves as medical director, overseeing staffing, credentialing and clinical standards.
The center employs 15 local team members, with approximately 90% hired from the surrounding communities, supporting local economic growth and expanding access to healthcare.
AFC Phillipsburg is the couple’s second location; they also operate AFC Roxbury, which opened three years ago.
A third location in Princeton-Montgomery is expected to open in August, and long-term plans include expanding to as many as 10 centers across New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania.
AFC Phillipsburg will operate 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, offering extended hours to serve busy families and workers.
