Fire crews responded Tuesday evening shortly after 6:40 p.m. to the 700 block of Wildell Road in Upper Darby Township for a kitchen fire.
From the Delaware County fire radio traffic:
The first units on scene reported a two-story twin with fire showing from a side of the house. That was soon upgraded to “heavy fire.”
At the 10-minute mark, all visible fire was “knocked,” personnel were checking for extension, there were two lines in service and searches were negative.
The nearby State Road was closed.
The incident was placed under control at 7:13 p.m. Board up was needed for 11 windows and three doors.
Crews were still at the scene at 7:20 p.m. and an official account of the incident was not yet available.
