LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — Lower Merion Township will be under a snow emergency from noon Sunday through 5 p.m. Monday. The declaration is based on forecasted weather conditions.
Residents are advised to stay off roadways during the snowstorm and until they have been cleared. Drivers should never pass a snowplow.
Major and primary roads will be plowed first. Residential secondary streets cannot be treated until storm conditions allow.
Property owners must clear sidewalks 36 inches in width within 24 hours of the end of snowfall. This includes corner sidewalk ramps to the street. Additionally, residents are asked to clear snow from around fire hydrants.
Throwing or plowing snow into the street is illegal.

Parking regulations are in effect during the emergency. Where parking is allowed on both sides of the street, residents are reminded to park on the even address side of the street during and after snowfall subsides. If possible, residents should park in their driveways. No parking is allowed in a cul-de-sac until after plowing is completed. No parking is allowed on designated snow emergency routes, which are listed on the township website and marked with Snow Emergency signage.
Disabled or abandoned vehicles on snow emergency routes may be towed by Lower Merion Police.
