The Erie County Fair is inviting community teams to help design and build miniature golf holes for the return of its Erie County Fairway exhibit.
Now in its third year, the interactive mini golf experience continues to grow in popularity, and organizers say they are welcoming classrooms, 4-H and FFA clubs, sports teams, businesses, organizations, or individuals who want to get creative.
Participating teams will be responsible for the concept, design, and construction of a mini golf hole that is fun, family-friendly, and themed around agriculture or the fair. The Erie County Fair will provide preassembled bases, which include turf, a starting tee, a hole cup, and flag.
Applications are open to all interested groups looking to contribute to one of Western New York’s longstanding traditions. You can get the applications at www.ecfair.org/minigolf. The deadline to apply is March 13.
The designs will be reviewed by the Fair staff and teams will be notified if they are selected. If you are selected, you can pick up your materials the week of March 30 and the completed hole must be delivered by the week of July 27.
Each selected team will receive complimentary Fair tickets, and recognition through the Fair’s website and social media channels.
