Lower Merion police investigating ‘incident’ near City Ave.

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — There is a heavy police presence in a neighborhood off City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd.

Several Lower Merion police vehicles responded to a residential area on Old Lancaster Road, near City Avenue, early Wednesday morning.

Lower Merion police, in a Facebook post, did not give specifics, only saying, “The incident is contained and there is no threat to the public.”

A Forensic Services Unit with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office arrived around 6:30 a.m.

St. Joseph’s University is across the street on City Avenue, but there was no indication that the incident was impacting operations at the school.
