YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Firefighters are working to put out a fire at a salvage yard in Spring Garden Township.
Emergency dispatchers said the fire was reported just 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Kings Mill Road.
Dispatch was unable to confirm the name of the business, but Greater York Professional Firefighters wrote on Facebook that crews are responding to a “salvage yard fire with exposure to multiple buildings.”
A witness who took video of thick black smoke in the area said the fire was happening at J&K Salvage, which is located at 1099 Kings Mill Road.
Dispatchers said York Area United Fire and Rescue is the main responding agency on scene, getting help from other local fire crews. Dispatch was unable to provide additional information at this time.
