READING., Pa. – A Chester County-based nonprofit that supports businesses is expanding its presence in Berks County.
The Chester County Economic Development Council recently got certification from the U.S. Treasury and a $2 million state grant.
The group still looking for a location in the Reading area.
It helps people looking to start a business, or businesses looking to expand.
The funding will help the group grow.
“And it’s predominantly to open business resource centers and provide what they term technical assistance, which is basically education and instruction and training and mentorship for startup businesses and small businesses,” says Chris McHenry, Vice President of CCEDC.
The group is also expanding in Harrisburg and the Bucks-Mont region.
