Eliza Jauregui was everywhere Wednesday night, powering Strath Haven past Lower Merion, 3-1, in Central League play.
The Panthers took it by set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 18-25,and 25-21.
Jauregui racked up 20 kills and 12 digs to lead the way, while Charlotte Thase kept the offense humming with 20 assists. Olivia Martinak (eight kills), Cecilia Lindsay (six kills) and Lizzie Rozin (six kills) added plenty of juice at the net. Caroline Vail (16 digs) and Maddy Kane (13 digs) held things down in the back row for Haven.
Elsewhere in the Central League:
Penncrest 3, Ridley 0 >> Anna Mita fueled the Lions with nine kills in a sweep of the Green Raiders. Al-Linh Nguyen contributed seven assists and seven digs, while McKenna Cahill ran the offense with 15 assists. Adrianna Roach added seven kills and Kaylee Tang notched six digs.
Garnet Valley 3, Harriton 0 >> Janani Muniswamy distributed 29 assists and five aces as the Jaguars cruised 25-12, 25-17 and 25-14.
Regan Hill registered 13 kills and Abigail MacMillan paired nine kills with nine digs.
In nonleague action:
Sacred Heart 3, Little Flower 0 >> Cameron Denne was on fire, piling up eight kills and 16 aces to lead the Lions to a clean sweep.
Sophie Ballios kept the offense moving with 17 assists, while Sienna Wiedenman chipped in seven kills. On the defensive end, Sophia Kehoe had a strong night with six digs.
Girls Tennis
Busayo Lawal’s 6-0, 6-2 win at third singles helped Cardinal O’Hara edge Sacred Heart, 3-2, in a nonleague match.
In doubles play, O’Hara received winning efforts from Allison Lorenz and Marielle Farrell, as well as Gwen Mangan and Ella Euseblo.
Sacred’s top single players Sarah Walker and Joslyn Ho each won 6-4, 6-4.
Boys Soccer
Mikey McGonagle tallied a goal and an assist, while Pees Pionek, Charles Rihn and Graham Quedenfeld all scored once in Episcopal Academy’s 4-0 triumph over Friends Central.
In the Central League:
Conestoga 2, Strath Haven 1 >> Halen O’Neill scored on a feed from John O’Rourke, but the Panthers fell to the Pioneers Tuesday night. Tyler Mickelberg made five saves between the pipes for Haven.
Girls Soccer
Sofia Gagliardi deposited a pass from Ava Cavanaugh as Episcopal Academy squeaked bu Archbishop Wood, 1-0, for its first win of the season.
Radnor 1, Harriton 0 >> Maeve Mucksavage scored in the second half on a pass from Anna Reger Goalkeeper. Maddie Lynn earned the clean sheet.
Field Hockey
Julia McMenamin recorded a hat trick for Marple Newtown in a 4-1 win over Lower Merion Tuesday. Alexa O’Brien also scored for the Tigers.
