OBITUARY
Kathy Morrell, 83, of West Scranton, passed away Sunday at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She is survived by her devoted husband, John R., her partner in life for nearly 59 years. On April 8, they would have celebrated their 59 th anniversary an extraordinary testament to their bond.
Born in West Wyoming, Kathy was the daughter of the late Andrew and Erma Sickler Yaletsko. She cared for countless patients with gentleness and unwavering dedication, at Allied Skilled Nursing, prior to her retirement.
Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a longtime member of Trinity Congregational Church. Kathy also found joy, purpose, and lifelong friendships through the Martha Washington Chapter 3, Order of Eastern Star, Taylor, where she proudly served as Worthy Matron on two separate occasions.
Above all, Kathy’s heart belonged to her family. She is survived by her three children John, Daniel, and Jennifer (Craig) Jordan. She also leaves behind her brother, Andrew (Nancy) Yaletsko; nine grandchildren who brought her endless joy; and many nieces and nephews who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her brother Harry and her sister Marylou, with whom she now reunites in peace.
Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Semian Funeral Home, 704 Union St., Taylor. Eastern Star services will begin at 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service led by the Reverend Jeremy K. Mullen.
