Police in Bethlehem are investigating after they say an 88-year-old man was involved in two crashes, one ending up with a fatality.
Bethlehem Police say officers responded to a head on collision in the area of Route 9W, in the area of Wemple Rd on October 10th, at around 12:48.
According to police, William H. Morehouse, 83, of West Coxsackie, was driving northbound when he crossed into the southbound lane, colliding head-on with a Bethlehem Senior Transportation Service vehicle.
The driver of the service vehicle was not injured, however the passenger, Jean R. Hipwell, 88, of Glenmont, was taken to St. Peters Hospital with chest pain and later succumbed to her injuries.

Morehouse was transported to St. Peters Hospital with a leg injury.
Police say Morehouse was also involved in an earlier crash at 12:46 p.m. on Route 9W near Church Rd, miles from the second crash.
Bethlehem Police say he side-swiped a vehicle driven by a 74-year-old man from Hannacroix. Neither driver was injured in the initial crash, according to police.
Both incidents are under investigation.
