A 65-year-old Levittown man was killed in an early morning crash on I-95 Monday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash happened at 4:58 a.m. on I-95 northbound in Bristol Township.

A 2008 Ford Fusion, operated by the Levittown man, struck the center barrier, and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, troopers said.

A 2006 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 43-year-old man from Camden, New Jersey, and a 2005 Nissan 350Z operated by a 68-year-old Philadelphia man were also involved in the crash.

The highway was intermittently closed during the investigation and fully reopened at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The Bucks County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.

Troopers from the Trevose barracks are investigating the crash with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Bensalem Township Police Department, Bristol Township Police Department, PennDOT, and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office.

Part of I-95 northbound in Bensalem and Bristol townships was jammed Monday morning due to a fatal crash.

The crash happened at 4:50 a.m. on I-95 northbound just before the Neshaminy Creek in Bensalem Township.

As of 7:50 a.m., I-95 northbound was snarled between Street Road and the Bristol Exit. The middle lane of the highway was open.

Traffic was backed up into Philadelphia in the northbound lanes.

Pennsylvania State Police and the Bucks County Coroner’s Office are investigating the crash.

Trooper Nathan Branosky said the crash involved one vehicle, a 2008 Ford Fusion, and the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of death of the driver is being probed, Branosky said.

Traffic was made worse by a second less-serious crash in the area.
