All Saucon Valley schools were closed Thursday after the district received multiple reports of a threat.

District officials received the information about the threat through social media, text messages, Safe2Say reports and phone calls, which were reported to police, according to a Saucon Valley School District news release.

“We make this decision with the priority of our students’ and staffs’ safety in mind,” the district said in a message to parents.

The schools were closed. and all on-campus extracurricular activities and events are either postponed or canceled out of an abundance of caution, the district said. Saucon Valley Elementary School’s math and literacy night was postponed as well.

Virtual SAT/ACT informational classes are still being held.

Students at Bethlehem Area Vocational-Technical School who have their own transportation were able to attend vo-tech classes. The district was not providing transportation, according to the release.
