One person dead after early morning Erie County house fire

One person has been confirmed dead after a residential fire broke out in Wattsburg early Thursday morning.

Calls for the blaze came in around 3 am. Emergency crews responded to the 8500 block of Haskell Hill Road in Amity Township.

Large amounts of smoke could be seen coming from the residence after firefighters extinguished the flames.

According to state police, the house has been deemed a total loss.
