In September of 2025 Iron Hill Brewery shockingly and abruptly shut down and filed for liquidation bankruptcy, closing all locations and leaving many to wonder what would be next for the brand. As the dust has finally settled it appears there may be some movement on many of the Pennsylvania based locations, as four former PA based Iron Hill locations have pending licenses indicating they will soon open in some sort of capacity.

In the months that followed there was a lot of different reports on what would happen to some of the locations. With early reports of a former restaurant owner buying a bulk of these spaces. In the time since those initial reports the original purchaser has gone on to re-sell the contents of the brand to a group who has now filed licenses on some of the former locations.

In early 2026 it was reported by the Inquirer that a federal bankruptcy judge awarded the purchase of Iron Hill’s trademark and intellectual property to a group named “IHB” which was backed by “Rightlane LLC”. In addition to the trademark and IP, the group was also awarded the licenses to four former Pennsylvania Iron Hill locations; Philadelphia, Huntingdon Valley, Hershey, Lancaster and a fifth location in Wilmington, DE. As for the Pennsylvania locations, the only spaces with current pending licenses are Lancaster, Hershey and Huntingdon Valley.

As mentioned above (as of this writing) it would appear that four former PA based Iron Hill locations have pending licenses attached to them. In addition to the ones purchased by the IHB group, it has been reported that the location in Newtown was purchased by PJ Wellihan’s.

In a public search of the PLCB license database you can see the four locations below are the only former Iron Hill building addresses with a pending license attached to them (all other location license status read as expired).

Currently the four locations mentioned above are the only PA based former Iron Hill facilities with pending licenses indicating that these four will be some of the first to reopen. It can be assumed that the three IHB brands will re-open as Iron Hill while the fourth will become a PJ Wellihan’s. All other locations are working independently to find their own future tenants. Check back as more information becomes available.
