PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A pickup truck flipped over and struck multiple vehicles in a predawn crash outside a South Philadelphia home, leaving a trail of damage along the street.

“It actually took me a few seconds to process what I was looking at,” said Dennis Scoleri.

What he saw was a sprawling crash scene outside their home near 10th and Tasker streets after a pickup truck overturned.

“It was just crazy. There were so many cars on the street with damage,” said Jenna Scoleri.

Philadelphia police said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of a Toyota Tacoma struck a Ford Mustang, flipped upside down, and then hit three other vehicles.

Doorbell camera video shows the driver getting out of the truck and running away before turning back. He appears to search for something, then tries to grab the bed of the flipped truck.

“I couldn’t make out what he was doing at first, and I realized, ‘Oh my God, he’s trying to flip the car back over,'” said Dennis Scoleri.

The driver tried several more times before giving up and running off again, leaving behind damaged vehicles.

“I didn’t believe it, came outside and saw it, and said, ‘Here we go again,'” said Jack Clemento of South Philly.

Celmento said “again” because he had just gotten his 2025 Mustang back from the shop after it was sideswiped three months ago. The car, which he has owned for less than a year, was towed away after the crash.

“I actually parked there thinking, ‘Let me keep away from the corner where it got hit last time.’ And now it got hit here,” he said.

He believes the car is totaled. Police said no arrests have been made.
