PENNSYLVANIA — The American Customer Satisfaction Index released its annual survey of customers of supermarkets and grocery stores, and a Pennsylvania-based chain chain did not do well in the results.

Out of 19 chains rated in the index, Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle finished last with a satisfaction rate of 73 out of a possible 100. That represented a one percent decline from 2025 numbers.

To provide individual scores for each chain, the organization asked people for feedback on things such as the convenience of store hours, a store’s mobile app reliability, the quality of meat and produce, pickup process, locations, website, brand selections, cleanliness and checkout speed.
