The 10th Pitt Day of Giving brought in donations from 11,431 individuals and more than $3.04 million.
Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and friends from 50 states and at least 30 countries and six continents gave during the Feb. 24 event.
At the Feb. 26 Senate Council meeting, Chancellor Joan Gabel called it a “very energizing day,” and offered thanks to “everyone in all the different ways that you may have participated.”
The number of donors is slightly higher than last year’s 11,423, although fell short of the $3.26 million raised in 2025.
When it came to different challenges during the day, Pitt–Greensburg was the big winner. The regional campus topped the School & College “Raise the Bar” Leaderboard, which ranked schools or campuses that surpassed the total donors in 2025. Greensburg increased donors 64.8% from 321 to 529. All the units that “raised the bar” will split $70,000 commensurate with their leaderboard position.
Greensburg also led School & College “Level Up” Leaderboard, which measured reached or exceeded their predetermined donor goal. Greensburg was at 146.94% of its goal. Each of the units that “leveled up” will split $30,000 evenly.
Pitt Public Health ranked second in both the “Raise the Bar” and “Level Up” challenges.
And finally, Greensburg had the most individual gifts during the School & College Power Hour from noon to 1 p.m. and will get an additional $3,000 in challenge funds.
A total of 2,577 Pitt faculty, staff and retirees made a gift, an increase over last year. A total of $5,000 will be awarded to the Student Emergency Assistance Fund, the fund with the most faculty, staff and retiree donors.
Staff Council said it raised over $33,000 from 126 donors, breaking the record from last year and unlocking matching funds and bonus funds.
In addition, 173 pounds of donations were collected for the Pitt Pantry.
