Police are investigating after a woman was shot in the head and killed inside an apartment on Friday evening, according to the Philadelphia Police Department.
The shooting happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 inside a second floor apartment on the 2600 block of South 9th Street in South Philadelphia, police said.
When officers got to the scene they said that they found an adult woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
A medic pronounced her dead around 4:42 p.m., according to police.
A woman was taken into custody in connection to this incident, officials said.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
