ALLENTOWN – District 11 Class 4A boys basketball gold medals on the line on Friday night at J. Milo Sewards gymnasium with Central Catholic locking up with Northwestern.
Low scoring first half as the Vikings lead 6-4 after the opening eight minutes and they work it around to Yariel Gonzalez at the top of the key. Gonzalez hits the three, part of his game-high 14 points.
Down the other way, the Tigers answer when Cannon Fitch drains the three from the top of the key and Northwestern surges in front 13-9 at the break.
In the third quarter, the Tigers Brady Krimmel with the long pass to Mason Bollinger who goes off glass for two. But it would be their only bucket of the quarter and ACC goes back in front 19-15 heading into the fourth.
The Vikings pick up the offense over the final eight minutes, Di’Quiawn Leak with the second-chance opportunity. He converts and Central Catholic goes on to win, 33-22.
