By a 4-3 vote, Erie County Council passed an ordinance that sees almost $250,000 going towards participation in the Erie 250 Community Grant Program, a program authorized by the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority (ECGRA) that adds a matching $250,000.
Erie County Councilman Charlie Bayle was a “no” vote and after the meeting explained why.
Cassandra Coleman, executive director of America250PA told Erie News Now:
“Erie County has really stepped up over the last six to eight months and there is real coordination for organizations in the County, who want to be doing things for the 250th to have a central and coordinating entity to work with.
We’re excited to continue to partner there especially around the Commonwealth Concert Series and return of the Niagara.”
