Robert ‘Bobby’ Fahey

OBITUARY

It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved brother and uncle, Robert Bobby Fahey at Allied Hospice on Friday, October 17, 2025, which was also the birthday of his belated mother.

Bobby was born in Scranton on March 9, 1953, and was the middle child of the late Joseph and Mary McDonald Fahey. He graduated from West Side High School and was a member of St. Patricks Church. Bobby worked at several manufacturing companies and retired as a custodian with the Scranton School district.

Bobby followed and had a great knowledge of all sports but nothing was more important to him than family. He loved taking his mother and brother on vacations to Atlantic City, Ocean City, Maryland and Disneyworld. When it came to his nieces and great nieces and great nephews, he was the Number 1 uncle. His great nieces, Caroline and Emma Grace, and great nephew, Nathan, were the loves of his life. He enjoyed taking them on vacations, out to dinner and on shopping sprees. He would Jokingly tell them The Sky is the Limit Today!. He attended all of their celebrations and sports events. He was so looking forward to Nathans senior basketball year.

Surely Bobby had a heart of gold and he will be sadly missed every day. Bobby loved people and enjoyed talking to them.

Bobby is survived by his brother, Joseph Denny (Nadys) and sister Debra Cwalinski (John), all of Scranton; two nieces Maryann Cwalinski (Rick), Brooklyn N.Y.; Chrissy Schimelfenig (Pat); great nieces Caroline Cwalinski, Emma Schimelfenig and great nephew, Nathan Schimelfenig, all of Scranton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers William and Edward and a nephew, William Billy Fahey.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel inside the Cathedral Cemetery.
