“Though the thrifty side was very fun, overall it is getting harder to keep things moving in the right direction,” the Feb. 1 announcement reads.
“So after much contemplation I have decided to close and just focus on our Bethlehem store.”
The Wicked Botanist, a plant nursery offering a wide selection of plants, plant accessories and gifts, originated in March 2021 in Bethlehem.
Owner Dawn Ash stocks The Wicked Botanist with a vast assortment of plants – from common, easy-to-maintain house plants to rare and exotic varieties.
The Whitehall location also offers thrifted clothing and other items.
Ash, a lifelong plant lover, is also heavily involved in the Lehigh Valley plant scene, organizing local festivals such as the Lehigh Valley Wicked Plant Festival, featuring around 80 plant and other retail vendors, artisans, food trucks, live music and other entertainment, at the SteelStacks campus in south Bethlehem.
