PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio — A couple celebrated their love in a special way last weekend, exchanging vows atop the ice of Lake Erie during a winter wedding ceremony inspired by their shared passion for cold-weather life.
Megan and Jordan Beck, who live near Put-In-Bay, met in 2020 and bonded over ice fishing and lake activities before deciding to plan a distinctive wedding.
Their Feb. 21 ceremony took place about 100 yards from the dock on Lake Erie’s frozen surface.

Megan’s father walked her down a makeshift aisle laid out with green foliage, leading to a wooden arch where Jordan awaited her. A couple dozen guests, dressed in winter attire, stood on the ice to witness the vows.
The ice was thick enough to support the gathering due to a massive freeze that covered much of the lake this winter.
