Eleanor Lazorik
OBITUARY
Eleanor Lazorik, 99, formerly from Throop, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, February 24, 2026 at Marywood Heights Skilled Nursing, Scranton . She was the daughter of the late George Novack, Sr and Martha Grzelka Novack born on January 18, 1927, in Scranton. She was the widow of Stephen Tibby Lazorik, who passed away in 1981.
Eleanor worked in the garment industry most of her life and retired from Throop Fashion in Throop. She was a very gifted seamstress who made clothes for herself and for many others as well. She spent much of her time lately, doing Find-a-word puzzles, playing scratch off BINGO lottery tickets, and loved watching Nascar racing. She was talented at crocheting as well. Making numerous baby blankets, beanies and booties that she donated to St. Joseph’s Center for the newborn babies there.
Eleanor is survived by her sister Dolores Novack Selig, and several nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was proceeded in death by her brothers Stanley and George Novack, Jr (Marlene Boos Novack), sister Rita Novack Manley, (Charles), and nieces and nephews.
The Family would like to thank the staff of Marywood, especially Mary Lou, Tracy and Teresa, and numerous aides, for their kindness and compassion shown to Eleanor during her stay there.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 4, from 9:30 – 11 am, with a blessing service to follow at the John Glinsky Funeral Home, Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop.
