Reading Community City Schools are welcoming back students Tuesday.The district has been one of the leaders when it comes to integrating artificial intelligence into the classroom.Two new programs are being introduced by the district meant to help assist both students and teachers in and out of school.The first program, called “Motivention,” will be used by about 175 students from fourth to 12th grade.Toe other, called “I-Ready,” will be used throughout the district.Both programs can act as personal tutors for students, either during class or when doing homework.Students can ask questions and the program gives feedback in real time.Teachers can access the database to understand the topics students might have to work on.Superintendent Dr. Damon Davis says it will help personalize learning for each student.For parents who might be concerned about the use of AI at school: Dr. Davis says AI will never replace teachers, it will just be an extra resource and tool to be utilized throughout the year.
