From walking tours spotlighting revolutionary trailblazers to lavender lattes that give back, Philadelphia is marking Women’s History Month with a citywide celebration. Throughout the month of March, local hotels, museums, restaurants and community groups are hosting special events to honor women’s stories and support women-focused causes.
Kimpton Hotel Palomar + Beyond the Bell Tours
The Kimpton Hotel Palomar and Beyond the Bell Tours have teamed up for the occasion and will be offering the Badass Women’s History Tour throughout March. While on the journey, participants will hear stories of different entrepreneurs, doctors, politicians, artists, and activists who helped shape Philadelphia. Tickets come out to be $59 (hotel guests and groups can redeem an exclusive 10% discount), and tours will be held daily at 11 a.m.

Loretta’s
Loretta’s latest sip is inspired by both Women’s History Month and the Philadelphia Flower Show. The women-led business has created the Steel Magnolia ($9), an iced lavender Earl Grey latte with salted honey whip (garnished with dried flowers). For every Steel Magnolia sold throughout March, Loretta’s will donate $1 to Women’s Way, a nonprofit organization dedicated to achieving gender equity by driving systemic change.

Betsy Ross House
The Betsy Ross House is hosting a full month of special events. Throughout March, Storyteller Saturdays (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) will feature award-winning Once Upon A Nation storytellers shining a light on women’s “often-overlooked contributions to American history.” On History Maker Sundays (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), locals can meet businesswomen, abolitionists, and suffragists from the past.
Then on March 22 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), locals can head to the venue for Meet the Women of the Betsy Ross House. There, you’ll encounter Betsy as a young seamstress secretly stitching the nation’s first flag, and later as Betsy Ashburn, the remarried upholsterer crafting musket cartridges for the Continental Army.

Alice
At Alice, a sweet treat will do some good during Women’s History Month. For every Blood Orange Bundt Cake sold, the Italian Market restaurant will donate 15% of proceeds to the Philadelphia-based nonprofit, Women Against Abuse. The dessert is paired with salted caramel and French vanilla ice cream, and will be available throughout March.

Junior League of Philadelphia
The Junior League of Philadelphia is once again offering JLP in Motion. Throughout March, the series will offer a curated selection of fitness classes with partners like Tula Yoga and Barry’s Bootcamp (a full schedule and list of prices can be found online). Proceeds from this series will directly benefit the JLP’s programs aimed at advancing women’s leadership and creating meaningful community impact across the Greater Philadelphia area. Classes are open to the public, and participants are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spots.

Bloomsday
Bloomsday’s monthly High Tea is celebrating Women’s History Month with Em Wilson Pastry. On Saturday, March 7 (2:30 to 4:30 p.m.), the event will feature unlimited pots of tea alongside a curated selection of sweet and savory Philly-inspired bites from Bloomsday’s kitchen. The $80 ticket includes bottomless tea service, a seasonal appetizer soup, a tiered tray of treats, and an exclusive dessert creation from Em Wilson.

Museum of the American Revolution
During March, locals can head to the MoAR’s exhibit, ‘The Declaration’s Journey’ to learn about different women trailblazers and Revolutionary icons. Special programming throughout the month also includes daily 10-minute talks, weekend discovery carts, live theatrical performances of Elizabeth Freeman’s story, member-exclusive tours, and a 21+ Women’s History Night featuring a screening of ‘For the Common Good: The Women Who Shaped Our Nation’ (March 18, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.).
All Women’s History Month events and exhibitions are included with regular admission ($14-$27, free for certain groups). The Museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and tickets are valid for two consecutive days.

The Ricky Codio Foundation
On Saturday, March 28, Philadelphia-based photographer Ricky Codio will transform MQ Factory (his Manayunk-based studio) into a “vibrant hub for women entrepreneurs” during Flowers for Her Marketplace 3. The free event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature a curated lineup of vendors (think fashion, beauty, wellness, art, and lifestyle), music and more.

Wilder
Locals can head to Wilder during Happy Hour (4 to 6:30 p.m.) from Monday, March 9, to Friday, March 13, to support Women’s History Month. On those dates, the venue will be serving a special, local cheese plate and drink special with proceeds benefiting a local organization.

Ocean Casino Resort
Ocean Casino Resort is celebrating Women’s History Month with two events. First, the Girls Just Wanna Have Brunch at Amada (Sunday, March 8, at 11 a.m., $75) features a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, a curated brunch menu of classic tapas and breakfast favorites, live music, and ocean views. Guests can also shop pop-ups from female-owned businesses while there.
Later in the month, Pilates After Dark: Presented by Exhale Spa + Bathhouse (March 26, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.) will take over HQ2 Nightclub for a one-hour mat Pilates session led by instructor and fitness influencer Jonnese Gaffney. The class will also feature a live DJ performance by all-female duo Dime Piece, photo ops, plus gifts from Mingle Mocktails, Exhale Spa + Bathhouse, Nectar Life and Fabletics.
