Evelyn M. Weaver (Frye), 85, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026.
Born on February 11, 1941, in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, Evelyn was the cherished daughter of the late Harold Frye and the late Alma (Leidy) Frye. She enjoyed a life centered on education, career, friendships, and family.
After graduating from high school, Evelyn earned an associate’s degree and worked as a grants administrator at Northampton Community College, supporting countless students and programs. She also worked at Rodale Press. A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, she approached her work with commitment and pragmatism.
Evelyn treasured her friendships and was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority for well over 50 years, during which she formed lasting bonds and enjoyed the sisterhood it offered. She brought a sense of style and decorum to all sorority events and was instrumental in raising funds for Lehigh Valley Hospital’s burn unit, Turning Point House, and Goodwill Industries.
Family was at the heart of everything for her. She cherished her loved ones deeply. An avid Penn State football fan, Evelyn cheered passionately for the Nittany Lions through their highs and lows.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Paul Richard Weaver, and her brothers, the late Thomas Frye, Kenneth Frye, and Wayne Frye.
Evelyn is survived by her son Kevin Weaver and his wife Sally, her sister Janet Bankert, and her beloved grandson Cade Weaver.
Evelyn’s legacy lives on in the strong family ties she nurtured and the friendships she cherished. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services: A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 1 PM at Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A viewing will begin at 12 PM and continue until the start of the service.
