Main Line Health has named Anna Michelle Brandt as president of Lankenau Medical Center, effective March 1.

Brandt comes from University Hospital, a 519-bed academic medical center in Newark, N.J., where she served as chief operating officer.

“Her commitment to quality, strong physician partnership and operational excellence make her the right leader to build on Lankenau Medical Center’s legacy while positioning the hospital for continued success in the years ahead,” said Ed Jimenez, president and CEO of Main Line Health, which also owns Riddle Hospital, Paoli Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Brandt was selected to lead Lankenau Medical Center following a comprehensive, multi-month nationwide search, where she stood out for her leadership in complex academic environments, fostering strong physician partnerships, and focus on quality and patient experience, Main Line Health said.

As Lankenau president, Brandt will provide executive leadership for the hospital’s clinical, academic and operational priorities. She will work closely with physician, clinician and non-clinical leaders to advance high-quality patient care, support education and research, and ensure the hospital remains well-positioned to meet the needs of the communities it serves, said Ed Jimenez, President and CEO of Main Line Health.

“It is an honor to join Main Line Health and to serve as president of Lankenau Medical Center. Lankenau has a long-standing reputation for clinical excellence, education and research, and I look forward to working alongside physicians, clinicians and colleagues to advance high-quality care and strengthen our impact for the communities we serve,” Brandt said.

Prior to joining University Hospital, Brandt spent nearly two decades at UF Health Shands Hospital, where she advanced through a series of progressively senior leadership roles. Beginning her career as an administrative resident, she went on to serve in multiple operational leadership positions, ultimately becoming vice president and hospital chief of staff.

She earned a Master of Science in Health Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
