Spring is almost here at SLB Radio’s Youth Media Center. Teens interested in exploring podcasting, writing, music, journalism and live radio can drop in for this free programming, which happens after school and on Saturdays.

Beginning tomorrow, March 3, students can sharpen their communication and engagement skills as they create audio documentaries about the amazing people and places of the Mercy Corridor. To register for this ongoing program, just fill out this form.

Other upcoming hands-on, media-making activities include:

Book Commercials (March 3, 4:30 p.m.)
Poetry Cafe: Women Writers (March 7, 12 p.m.)
Artist or Critic (March 10, 4:30 p.m.)

They can also stop by to work on their own creative ideas during open studio hours on Mondays through Thursdays from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

These activities are free to local teens and take place at SLB’s Youth Media Center, co-located in the Children’s Museum on Pittsburgh’s Northside. Students are encouraged to visit SLB’s Student Hub to learn more about these programs. Families can also tune-in to SLB’s live, teen-hosted shows at YouthExpress.org
