SOUTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – South Whitehall Police are warning of a driveway sealing scheme happening around the township.

The company goes by the name of “Northern Asphalt – Make Your Driveway Great Again.”

A business card simply lists “Robert Northern” and Allentown with no business address.

The customer affected was quoted for $800. A different individual identified as “Johnny Wells” with the same phone number arrived and completed the work, according to police.

After work was done — the customer was given a handwritten bill for 27,000 dollars, and cited a 15-year warranty.

Police say some red flags to look out for are no written contracts, no physical address, price switching, and hand written receipts.

Police warn that you should always verify business licensing, look for reviews, avoid paying up front.

And if the price spikes unexpectedly — do not pay and call the police.

Police are still investigating this report.
