BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A New Jersey man is in custody after trying to seek sex with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl, police said.

Bensalem Police arrested Justin Orio, 35, of Oaklyn/Barrington, N.J., on charges related to unlawful contact with a minor and sexual abuse of children. Orio turned himself in to the Bensalem Township Police Department on Feb. 18.

The investigation began on Nov. 30 when Orio initiated contact on a social media and a dating application, talking with whom he believed to be a 13-year-old middle school student.

During the initial conversation, Orio reportedly asked the individual about their virginity and requested photos, police said.

Police said the communications continued for several days before gradually ceasing. On Dec. 29, Orio re-established contact. He then asked the individual to meet him and described sexual acts in graphic detail. He also offered to pick up the person from Bensalem, and bring them to his New Jersey home.

Orio also requested nude photographs and assured the individual that there would be no negative consequences. Bensalem Detectives subsequently contacted Orio, who admitted to messaging the individual.

Authorities confirmed that no juvenile was ever in danger during the course of this investigation.

An arrest warrant was issued for Orio. Following his surrender, he was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone. Orio was remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility with bail set at 10 percent of $750,000. He faces charges including Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Sexual Abuse of Children (Photo/Video/Abuse Material), and related charges.
