A 74-year-old Bellevue man died in a two-vehicle crash in Erie County, according to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Sandusky Post.
Steven Hay was pronounced dead Oct. 22 at a hospital.
The crash was reported at 3:49 p.m. and occurred at the intersection of County Road 205 and County Road 312 in Groton Township.
A 32-year-old Bellevue woman driving a 2018 Cadillac XT5 east on County Road 205 failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by the northbound 2000 Chevrolet S10 that Hay was operating, police said.
After the collision, both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a stop sign and utility pole.
Hay was transported to Bellevue Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The woman was transported to Firelands Hospital by North Central EMS with non-incapacitating injuries, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Groton Township Fire, North Central EMS, Central Automotive and Perkins Towing.
