After a busy weekend battling for District 2 championships at Mohegan Arena, high school basketball teams from the Lackawanna League and Wyoming Valley Conference now turn their attention to the PIAA playoffs.

On Sunday, the PIAA released times and sites for the first-round games, which tip-off Friday and Saturday across the state.

There are 11 games featuring teams from District 2 on Friday night, and another 10 scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

In boys action Friday, Abington Heights and Scranton Prep have home games, while Crestwood, Dallas and Valley View all hit the road.

Friday’s girls games include home contests for Dunmore, Hazleton Area and Scranton while Mountain View hosts a game at Carbondale Area High School. Meanwhile, Holy Redeemer and Wyoming Seminary have road games.

On Saturday, Delaware, Old Forge and Riverside boys all host games. Hitting the road for boys games will be Dunmore, Susquehanna and Wilkes-Barre Area.

In girls action Saturday, Crestwood and Scranton Prep are home while North Pocono and Valley View are on the road.

First-round winners advance to the second round. Winners of Friday’s games will play Tuesday, March 10, while teams that advance Saturday while be back in action Wednesday, March 11.
