PITTSBURGH, PA — A renowned New York City pizzeria is stepping out of its Brooklyn boundaries and opening its first Pittsburgh location.

F&F Pizzeria will have its official debut on Monday October 37. It’s in the former Bados Pizza Grill Ale House space on Beverly Road in Mt. Lebanon and is the first F&F outside of the original one in Brooklyn’s Carroll Garden section.

F&F, run by chefs Frank Falcinelli and Frank Castonovo, has been named one of New York City’s top pizzerias by The New York Times.

The opening here will come with limited hours and reservations and can be made online. Walk-ins and to-go orders will also be welcomed during this time.

The two Franks first rose to prominence with the Italian restaurant Frankies 457 in Brooklyn in 2003. Over the years, the duo also published a cookbook and launched a brand of olive oil, which quickly grew to offer other fine foods sourced from independent farms and craftsmen throughout Italy.

The original location of F&F Pizzeria opened in 2019, just down the block from Frankies. In late 2024, the Franks expanded F&F Pizzeria next door and opened the full-service F&F Restaurant and Bar. Following this milestone, the next natural step for the Franks was to bring their concept to other markets.

The Franks connection to Pittsburgh is personal, lined with friends from culinary school and a connection to the neighborhoods that reminded the owners of the way the pair grew up in Queens. Pittsburgh’s thriving pizza culture was also a factor in the Steel City being selected as the first location outside of Brooklyn for F&F.

The pizzeria embraces natural fermentation and using ingredients of the highest quality—including Bianco DiNapoli organic tomatoes and Frankies 457 Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In addition to featuring a variety of pies, F&F Pizzeria offers a trattoria menu with small plates like Arancini, and the duo’s Castelvetrano Nocellara Olives, followed by a variety of insalata and entrees like the Vodka Rigatoni Al Forno and Shrimp with Polenta.

The opening menu will also feature Calzone and the F&F Calzoagie with mortadella, soppressata, sungolds and Red Rock cheddar.

F&F will have a soft open October 24- October 26. All walk-in business will be first come, first-served. Reservations will open on Monday, October 27. Online ordering will be added soon.
