DUI: At 3:22 a.m., officers spotted a Mitsubishi Outlander traveling in the westbound lane of Baltimore Avenue at an unsafe speed. A traffic stop was conducted and a 44-year-old Upper Chichester driver was found be under the influence and was arrested.
Feb. 12
Firearm: About 9:45 p.m., units responded to the 100 block of Beverly Avenue for a subject with a gun. Officers found a 38-year-old man on the roof of a residence holding a handgun. He advised police that numerous persons with guns were attacking him. No other persons could be located in the area. With the assistance of Lansdowne, Yeadon and Upper Darby officers, the man was removed from the roof and the firearm was recovered. He did not have a license for the firearm, nor did he own the firearm. He did, however, have two Protection-from-Abuse orders, which prohibited him from possessing firearms. The subject was taken into custody and committed to a crisis center for evaluation.
Jan. 20
Assault: About 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the 700 block of Long Lane for a domestic in progress. Officers found the residence damaged with multiple windows and other items within and without the property being damaged. Investigation found Lydia Renee King, 45, was responsible for the damage. While attempting to take her into custody, King physically resisted arrest and attempted to escape, police said. King was taken into custody by Officer Stephen Mengini and arraigned on charges of assault and criminal mischief charges. Unable to post 10 percent of $30,0000 bail, King was taken to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.
Jan. 16
Stolen property: Approximately 9:30 p.m. Officer Joshua Taylor received an alert from the license plate reader system indicating a stolen license plate was just detected in the eastbound lane of Baltimore Avenue. Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop and spoke to the 24-year-old operator, whose driver license was listed a suspended, and additional motor vehicle violations were discovered. A stolen license plate was recovered and the suspect was taken into custody. He was booked and released on a summons for court.
