A woman died early Tuesday morning following a residential fire in Bensalem Township, authorities said.
The victim was identified as Christine Toal, 56, according to a press release.
Bensalem Township police, emergency medical services, and firefighters were dispatched to the 2700 block of Bellview Drive at approximately 2:45 a.m. after reports of a house fire.

Upon pulling up at the scene, officials saw heavy smoke venting from the home.
A male resident who had already evacuated the building informed officers that a woman was still inside the residence, authorities said.

Firefighters from the Bensalem Township Volunteer Fire Department and mutual aid companies entered the home through the front door.
In heavy smoke conditions, crews located Toal unconscious in the kitchen area.

Toal was moved outside and turned over to ambulance personnel, who performed life-saving measures, authorities said.
Toal was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male resident was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia for evaluation and treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Firefighters were able to halt and extinguish the fire before it reached neighboring homes.
No injuries to police, firefighter, and EMS crews were reported.
Bensalem Township police detectives and Bensalem Township Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Nicholas Altomare are conducting an investigation into the cause and origin of the fire.
Officials stated that the family of the deceased has been notified and the investigation remains active.
The Bensalem Township blaze happened hours after crews battled a multi-home fire in Bristol Borough, which led to one death and one person with injuries.
