HATFIELD TWP., Pa. – An Allentown man has pleaded guilty to brutally assaulting a pregnant woman in Montgomery County last year.
According to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, 36‑year‑old Raymond Bautista appeared in court Tuesday before Judge Steven O’Neill, where he pled guilty to a felony charge of aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 4 to 8 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Bautista, wearing a ski mask and gloves, attacked the woman outside Hatfield Village Apartments on April 24, 2025. Surveillance video captured the victim leaving her home around 4:30 a.m. to go to work when she was suddenly kicked in the back and stomach and punched in the face. She suffered a broken nose along with multiple cuts and bruises.
Investigators identified Bautista after executing a search warrant at his home, where they found clothing matching what the attacker wore in the video. He was initially charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault of an unborn child, simple assault, and reckless endangerment.
A criminal complaint states the victim was 15 weeks pregnant with Bautista’s child, a fact he knew. Investigators say Bautista admitted to the assault, claiming he acted because the victim had “talked badly about him at work.”
Bautista was originally released on a $75,000 unsecured bail, but prosecutors successfully filed an emergency motion to increase it to $500,000 cash due to the severity of the attack.
