SPRING TWP., Pa. – Big things are happening at the site of a big development project in Berks County.
The Broadcast District housing and shopping center is taking shape across from Broadcasting Square in Spring Township.
Officials with the developer, SJC Ventures, say it’s full steam ahead.
Crews are doing a lot of site work on the ground, and we’re told buildings could start going up by late spring or early summer.
The site will be anchored by Berks County’s first Whole Foods and about 15 to 20 tenants have committed so far.
“We’re pleased to announce that we’re also going to have a Chase Bank, Seven Brew Coffee, Qdoba, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen, Hair Cuttery, Laser Away, Luna Nail Lounge and Sleep Number,” said Matt Robinson with SJC Ventures.
Officials say there’s still about 10,000 square feet of space left to lease.
The center is expected to open in the fall of next year.
