
SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Energy is building for one of the biggest days of the year in Scranton. The Saint Patrick’s Parade Operations Committee gathered on Tuesday to review the final lineup, spacing of bands, dancers, and floats to keep the crowd engaged from start to finish.
More than 145 groups are set to march. New this year: A full section will honor America’s 250th birthday, recognizing the impact Irish-Americans had in shaping the nation.
Organizers say the hard work is done; Now it is all about celebration.

“You know it’s all excitement at this point, a lot of work is done, and we’re just looking forward to getting out there next saturday. next couple of weeks, we got a whole bunch of different events leading up to the parade, including our vip dinner and some other meetings, but at this point, we’re just getting ready for the parade,” Parade Director PJ Lahey
The parade steps off at 11:45 a.m. on March 14 in Scranton, and organizers expect thousands to pack the streets. You can watch all the action live on WYOU.
