Support cancer awareness by dressing down on March 26 for Casual Day, a fundraiser by the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Casual Day is a program hosted by the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute and the program is in its 23rd year.  Casual Day is March 26th and people are encouraged to dress down.  

According to the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute, Colorectal cancers are the second leading cause of cancer deaths in Northeastern Pennsylvania.  Often, there are no symptoms of colon cancer. The recommended age for colon cancer screening is 45. 

The NRCI is selling Casual Day gear on its website and at select Gerrity’s supermarket locations in NEPA.  Money goes to the Northeastern Regional Cancer Institute.

The deadline to order Casual Day merchandise is Wednesday March 11th.
