According to a recent Facebook post made by the ANNA Shelter they received a call from the Pennsylvania State Police about a dog in need of immediate medical attention.

The ANNA Shelter is working directly with Erie Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Cotton who is investigating this case.

A Trooper brought the dog to the shelter wet, cold, and severely injured. The dog was found covered with towels and a blanket. Underneath the blanket officers found that she had been bound by zip ties, cutting off circulation.

The shelter reported that she had been covered in urine causing urine scalding and has several infections.

Staff at the ANNA Shelter worked to stabilize the dog after removing the zip ties. Once stabilized it was decided to take her to a Critical Care specialist. The shelter is calling the dog Jolene and thank the Trooper for his assistance in Jolene’s case and care.

The ANNA Shelter is pleading to the public that anyone with information about this case should contact the Cruelty Team at (814) 572-5913 or Pennsylvania State Police Erie Barracks at (814) 898-1641.

Erie News Now team left a message for Pennsylvania State Police but have not received a response yet. The location of the dog is unknown at this time.
