PITTSBURGH, PA — A noted Pittsburgh restaurateur is debuting a new fast casual eatery on Thursday.
Herky Pollock, along with his wife, Lisa, and Chef Ed Smith and Amanda Smith, are opening The Common Good in the Union Trust Building, Downtown. Herky Pollock is a co-owner of the Burgatory and Shorty’s chains in Pittsburgh as well as Ritual House, Downtown, and Palm Palm in Eastside.
“As a group and as individuals we are dedicated to making Pittsburgh a better place to live, work and play in absolutely everything we do,” Herky Pollock said.
“That includes listening to our customers and our neighbors downtown. We heard the need loud and clear from our patrons, friends, and colleagues and decided it was the right time to launch this concept. The Common Good is our answer to people who want a local and convenient option Downtown that also does some good for the community.”
Opening in the space formerly occupied by Freshii, The Common Good will have quick casual breakfast, lunch and snack offerings that will include grain bowls, salads, sandwiches, acai bowls, bakery items and smoothies.
The Common Good will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
