The state high school basketball playoffs start Friday night and two teams that will have home games come from Scranton Prep.
The girls beat Valley View last Thursday to capture the district 2– 4 A title while the boys won the 4 A championship on Saturday by beating Dallas.
The Classics now will play Saturday afternoon against Lancaster Catholic while the Cavaliers host Schuylkill Valley from district 3 , Friday night.
Bob Beviglia, Scranton Prep girls coach says, “District three is loaded. You know the number four seed from district three is going to be as good as any team that we played all year long.
So our job between now and then is for a few days here to celebrate and then see what we’re up against. More than anything, it’s about us getting better in a week’s time and being ready to play that game next Saturday afternoon”.
Larry Reagan, Scranton Prep boys coach added , “With these guys, I think it’s kind of easy. They play hard, They push each other in practice every day. And I got a bunch of juniors and seniors who are not afraid to speak up. So, they’re going to be ready to roll. “
