The Common Good, a new healthy fast casual dining concept, is opening in Downtown Pittsburgh’s Union Trust Building. At noon on Thursday, March 5th, Mayor Corey O’Conner and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership will cut the ribbon to officially open The Common Good and mark its official start of service.

The Common Good will serve breakfast and lunch Monday – Saturday from 7am – 4pm. Dine-in and carry-out options are available.

Herky and Lisa Pollcock, Chef Ed, and Amanda Smith are the team behind The Common Good. Believing that everyone deserves access to fresh, healthy food without sacrificing speed for quality, they built the menu around wholesome ingredients that fuel busy days—whether grabbing breakfast before a meeting or picking up lunch on-the-go.

“We are dedicated to making Pittsburgh a better place to live, work and play in absolutely everything we do,” says owner Herky Pollock. “We heard the need loud and clear from our patrons, friends, and colleagues and decided it was the right time to launch this concept. The Common Good is our answer to people who want a local and convenient option downtown that also does some good for the community.”

Guests can round up and also donate meals to neighbors in need as a part of the group’s overall commitment to uplifting neighbors in Pittsburgh.

Breakfast options include breakfast sandwiches and burritos, a satisfying Breakfast Bowl, and smoothie and acai bowls. Lunch options include a wide variety of dine-in and quick grab-and-go options—from salads and sandwiches to paninis and bowls.
