Part of the proceeds raised in the BK5K Road Race were donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Pennsylvania to purchase sports-related equipment, including baseballs and gloves, jump ropes and gym equipment. The annual 5-kilometer race honors Bob Kierlin, founder of Fastenal Co. and lifelong supporter of youth programs. The event is a competitive road race intended to challenge athletes of all abilities to pursue their best efforts. All proceeds from the event and other fundraising efforts go to various area youth organizations.
