The identity is meant to celebrate 25 years as the Detroit Tigers’ Double-A affiliate.

While the Flagship City pays homage to Erie itself, kitties is meant to represent all of the Detroit Tigers’ players who came through the SeaWolves clubhouse over the years — Kitties being younger versions of the tigers.
