An investigation is underway after two women were found dead inside a home in Jackson Township, Butler County, Wednesday morning. Pennsylvania State Police said in a release that officials were called to a home on Dior Drive following a reported welfare check. The women, who have not been identified, were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.Authorities said the women were found following an investigation in Illinois, where a man was found to have died by suicide after he called local police in Illinois to report bodies in the Jackson Township home.Hillside police in Illinois said they found out who the man was and traced his address to Dior Drive in Butler County. The release said the two women found dead are believed to be related to the man found in Illinois. Neighbors in the Jackson Ridge development told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 reporter Felicity Taylor that police arrived on the street at about 9 a.m. and asked them when they had last seen the family who lived in the home. Most said it had at least been a few days. “The fact that we didn’t hear anything within the last couple days — I don’t even know when it did happen. That’s, I guess, what’s eerie, is just knowing that it happened right next door,” said Danielle Spore, who lives next door. Many neighbors described the family as friendly, and said they were shocked that this occurred in their neighborhood.”Very social. As soon as we moved in, they were one of the first to come and welcome us to the neighborhood,” Spore said.Authorities say there is no threat to the public, and they are not searching for anyone else in connection with the incident.
