ALLENTOWN, Pa. – An Allentown man was sentenced Thursday to years in state prison for a 2023 fatal crash that killed two people, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s office announced.
Imanol Caraballo, 25, pleaded guilty on Jan. 21, 2026 to two counts of Homicide by Vehicle while Driving Under the Influence, Accidents Involving Death and Driving under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, officials said.Â
Caraballo was sentenced on Thursday to serve 9 to 30 years in state prison.
Around 1:15 a.m. on Dec. 10, 2023, Allentown Police and first responders were called for two pedestrians struck in a hit-and-run crash in the 300 block of Hamilton Street, authorities said.
Witnesses told police the vehicle that struck the two people was a grey sedan that fled eastbound on Hamilton Street.
Officials said that Christopher Stocker, 44, and Luz Ruiz-Acosta, 43, also of Allentown, both died from blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash and their deaths were ruled accidental by the Lehigh County Coroner.
While traveling in the 100 block of Walnut Street, an Allentown Police officer found a silver sedan parked nearby. The car’s windshield was smashed and the hood was dented.
Caraballo was nearby and the investigation revealed he had been driving the car at the time of the crash that killed the two victims, according to authorities.Â
Caraballo’s blood tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, the DA’s office said.Â
