PALMER TWP., Pa. – A sinkhole is causing road closures in Palmer Township, Northampton County Thursday afternoon.
Both east and west travel lanes on the 2700 block of Newburg Road from Brentwood Avenue to Fischer Road are closed until further notice, according to a news release from the Palmer Township Police Department.
Police say a sinkhole was forming on both travel lanes on the 2700 block of Newburg Road.
Police said traffic is currently being detoured away from the area. People are asked to avoid the area and allow for extra time for their travels.
Police say people should be prepared for traffic delays.
