The state Department of Transportation has posted plans online for the 2028 replacement of a bridge carrying Oak Street over Keyser Creek in Taylor near Stauffer Industrial Park.

The small bridge is a short distance west of a rail bridge over Oak Street right next to the industrial park’s access road from Oak Street. Construction should begin in early 2028 and be completed in fall 2028.

The proposed Route 3012, Section D50 bridge replacement project would “provide a sustainable crossing over Keyser Creek that addresses structural and hydraulic deficiencies of the existing structure,” as well as continued access to residents, businesses and emergency vehicles, PennDOT said in an announcement.

Plans that went online Monday will be available until April 2, which is the public comment period. Project details and a comment form can be found on the PennDOT District 4-0 website at https://tinyurl.com/3bj5zrwa.

A project description states: “Route 3012 (Oak Street) proposed improvements will include the replacement of the existing two 5 foot diameter precast concrete pipes under fill that carry Oak Street over Keyser Creek with a new precast concrete box culvert. Approach roadway work will be minimal; approximately 130 feet on both approaches. Guide rail will be updated within the project limits and traffic will be maintained along with roadway via staged construction.”
